Defining the patient experience in extremity soft tissue sarcoma through a sequential exploratory mixed methods approach: the Sarcoma-Specific Quality of Life (SARCQOL) Study
(Dr. Krista Goulding and Dr. Robert Turcotte)
We are recruiting individuals willing to participate in small focus groups. Discussions will be either in French or English (based on your preference) and conducted as an e-focus group (over email) or in-person. Each group will discuss their own patient experience, including any challenges and difficulties encountered during diagnosis, treatment and surveillance.
The purpose of this research study is to involve patients as collaborators in the development of a compelling, feasible and clinically relevant quality of life questionnaire. Ultimately, the goal is to better understand patient experience with sarcoma during this age of personalized medicine.
Should you be interested, you are eligible to participate if:
- You are a patient attending the Sarcoma Clinic for the treatment of an extremity (arm or leg) soft tissue sarcoma.
- You speak French or English.
- You are available to attend a 1h to 1h30 in-person focus group at the Glen or to participate in a four-week email discussion. Should you not be able to participate in a group discussion, individual interviews are also possible.
If you are interested in participating or have any questions regarding this study, please contact our research assistants Gabrielle Denis-Larocque at [email protected] or 514-934-1934 local 44300 or Steven Salomon at 514-934-1934 local 43022.
