Barbara Izzard#AskMUHC: The Montreal Children’s is moving to the Glen

Senior Advisor for the Montreal Children’s Hospital, Barbara Izzard, was interviewed this week for the Global Morning #AskMUHC segment. She described the months of preparation leading to the patient transfer that will occur on May 24, detailing the specific roles the 19 medical teams will play on moving day so every angle of the transfer is covered.

Pediatric staff faces unique challenges when transporting patients

Approximately 85 patients will be moving, 25 % of which are patients from the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. One of MCH’s priorities is to ensure the most vulnerable patients are transferred safely. Emergency and pediatric healthcare workers, Dr. Tanya Di Genova, Dr. Saleem Razack, Marisa Leone and Dr. Louis Beaumier were interviewed by CBC news on the challenges they could face and the set of measures put in place so that everything unfolds smoothly.

Some happiness for sick children, one gift at a time

Toumaj Ansary, hospitalized at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, gave back a little hope to sick children from the hematology-oncology department to help them deal with their illness. Le Journal de Montréal followed him while he distributed presents to delighted patients, from a remote-control dog, to a Wii console, in front of grateful parents touched by this act of generosity.

Roses

500 roses for the Montreal General Hospital 

To recognize the great work of the Montreal General Hospital’s healthcare workers, a student group from the Iranian community in Montreal decided to give out flowers to staff at the hospital this Thursday. Global news was there to capture the smiles as 500 roses were handed out.
