Pushing screening of ovarian and uterine cancers one step further

Dr. Lucy Gilbert and Dr. Kris Jardon with colleagues from Johns Hopkins Institute in the U.S have developed a safer, less  invasive test for detecting early ovarian and uterine cancers. Quebec Science unveils the Discovery of the Year public prize!
An anti-cancer probe developed by a team of researchers including Kevin Petrecca of the Montreal Neurological Institute and the McGill University Health Centre has won the prize for top discovery of the year of Québec Science magazine.


Brain’s biological clock stimulates thirst before sleep

Are opioids the best medicine for treating pain?

A new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association looked at the effects of opioids on chronic pain. Dr. Jordi Perez, a pain management specialist from the Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit at the MUHC, was in studio at CBC 88.5fm Homerun this week to discuss the findings.
