PeriAnesthesia Nurses Week!
Congratulations, Véronique Laurier!
Thank you, and all your colleagues, for the excellent work you do. Join us in celebrating PeriAnesthesia Nurses Week from February 4 to 10!
What led you to becoming a perianesthesia nurse?
I've always enjoyed a challenge, and when the opportunity to work in perianesthesia arose, I jumped at it. I developed a deeper understanding of critical care, all the while offering patients care with empathy on the day of their surgery. It's intellectually stimulating work, where teamwork is central.
What is the best advice that someone at the MUHC ever gave you?
"The person who asks a question is a fool for five minutes. The person who doesn't ask is a fool for life." This advice always inspires me to be curious and to keep learning.
Tell us about working with your fellow perianesthesia nurses?
We're a big family. The strength of our teamwork is undeniable. We can always count on one another.
How do you like to relax and unwind after a shift?
I love the outdoors. It's a privilege to be able to walk to work. This daily activity allows me to take a few minutes for myself, to re-centre and appreciate the simplicity of nature.
