New online features for the MUHC Ombudsman’s Office
The Office of the MUHC Ombudsman (Quality and Complaints Commissioner) has a new section on the MUHC website. It is designed to help patients and those close to them understand the role of the Ombudsman and what kinds of support the office can provide.
“Reaching out to the Ombudsman’s Office doesn’t always involve filing a complaint,” says MUHC Ombudsman Michael Bury.
The user-friendly web section features a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and answers, as well as a list of resources. It also contains a detailed online form that can be used to contact the office.
“Our FAQ section explains the different types of support available through our office and the steps to take when formulating a complaint. It also answers a lot of other questions,” says Associate Ombudsman Stéphanie Urbain.
“The new webform provides lots of space to describe the request and expected outcome,” adds Associate Ombudsman Sonia Turcotte. “It is a very efficient way to get in touch with our office.”
The Ombudsman’s Office helps patients and their representatives who are having trouble navigating the healthcare system or who would like to make a complaint. See the new Ombudsman section here.
