Montreal General Hospital Emergency Department temporarily losing space

Construction and renovation work in the area is causing the Emergency Department at the Montreal General Hospital (MGH) to lose precious space for a period of five weeks.

Starting Monday, May 30th, the waiting room will be relocated to the corridor, and exam rooms will be set up in a temporary area.  Security agents are on site to guide patients.

Staff will do their best to ensure the comfort and confidentiality of patients but conditions will not be optimal during this period.

Given this, we would like to advise patients to consider the following alternatives.  If your reason for coming to Emergency is not serious:

call info sante
go to your nearest clinic
go to the emergency department

  1. Call INFO-SANTÉ at 811
  2. Contact your family doctor or clinic
  3. Go to the Clic Santé website and select a service that matches your needs

The renovation work is expected to be completed by July 7.
