COVID-19 outbreak at the Montreal General Hospital

The Montreal General Hospital (MGH) Emergency Department is experiencing an outbreak of confirmed cases of Covid-19.
- Three patients have been declared positive
- One member of the staff has been confirmed positive
- At this time, a total of two MUHC staff members have been quarantined
- In addition, all patients who may have been exposed to infected individuals will be tested, placed in protective isolation and actively monitored for symptoms.
The MGH Emergency remains open, and healthcare teams are strictly following infection control measures to reduce internal transmission.
In accordance with the COVID-19 protocols, the Infection Prevention and Control (ICP) department and Human Resources teams are conducting an epidemiological investigation to trace close contacts of infected individuals.
Public health authorities from the Quebec government have been notified.
Emergency Measures Coordination Centre
