Dr. Lucie Opatrny receives the King Charles III Coronation Medal

On January 15, Dr. Lucie Opatrny, President and Executive Director of the McGill University Health Centre, was awarded the prestigious the King Charles III Coronation Medal. This commemorative distinction is awarded to Canadians who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to the well-being of Canadian society.

On behalf of the Honourable Manon Jeannotte, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, Mr. Jacques Duchesneau presided over a special ceremony at the Atwater Library in Montreal to honour 47 citizens from the Greater Montreal area, all recipients of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

The ceremony aimed to highlight the outstanding contributions of these individuals, many of whom work behind the scenes, making a significant impact on their communities, the province, and, in some cases, nationally and internationally.

Here's a quote about Dr. Opatrny's accomplishments that was read at the ceremony: "As President and Executive Director of the McGill University Health Centre, you embody visionary leadership. Your contribution to managing the pandemic and your commitment to improving the accessibility and quality of care make you an essential figure in public health."

Congratulations to Dr. Opatrny on this well-deserved recognition!
