Critical Care Transport Nurses Day!

Monica Chabot

Congratulations Monica Chabot! Thank you, and all your colleagues, for the excellent work you do.  Join us in celebrating  Critical Care Transport Nurses Day on February 18!

What led you to becoming a critical care transport nurse?

I was intrigued by the concept of going to other centres and stabilizing newborns. It took me out of my comfort zone and it was an opportunity to develop a certain autonomy outside of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

What is the best advice that someone at the MUHC ever gave you?

Never be overconfident or think that you’ve seen it all and done it all - even after many years of experience. Always keep an open mind to learn new things.

Tell us about working with your fellow critical care transport nurses?

We work as a team and we depend on one another. We support each other, which is essential for the team to be functional.

How do you like to relax and unwind after a shift?

Staying in shape is a big part of my life.  I go to spin class many times a week. It clears my mind and helps to release tension.
