Launch of the Nagano multicentre module
On March 1, a new synchronization process was implemented in Nagano for studies under the Quebec RSSS multicentre mechanism. A brief overview of the changes was developed by Semiweb, the company behind Nagano, with input from the MUHC REB. You can find it here (French only).
Additional new features will be progressively rolled out over the coming months. But as of today, the main change concerns the initial submission process of multicentre projects:
- Project for which the MUHC is the evaluating REB (“MP”): Research teams will now need to complete a new form, the F0. This form will be used by the MUHC REB to create the Declaration Letter (indicating the MUHC REB will be the reviewing REB). Upon submission of the F0 form by the MUHC research team, an F11 will be automatically created. Answers to questions in the F0 will automatically populate the F11. As previously, for the evaluation to be initiated, the F11 will need to be completed fully and submitted along with all study documents.
- Project reviewed by the REB of another RSSS institution (“MEO”): If the other RSSS institution already uses Nagano, each member of the MUHC research team that has been identified in the submission made by the lead research team to the reviewing REB will receive an e-mail asking to confirm their participation. Carefully follow the instructions provided in the email. Upon confirmation, a submission form (F11MEO) will be created in the MUHC Nagano.
The new synchronisation process will not create additional delays; there are no additional questions to answer. Single-centre projects are not affected. ONLY sites that are part of the RSSS and that already use Nagano are affected by these changes.
