MUHC superstars are celebrating important career anniversaries!
How many people are celebrating their 20th MUHC career anniversary? What about their 25th anniversary? Has anyone been working at the MUHC for over 30 years?
The answer is yes—hundreds and hundreds of people! They were all invited to La Célébration fidélité et engagement recently, getting together with fellow MUHC staff who’ve also reached 20 years of service or more. (Guests are invited at five-year career anniversary intervals, in other words, their 20th anniversary, 25th, 30th, 35th, and so on).
Formerly known as the Quarter Century Celebration, the party honours employees for the incredible contribution that they’ve made at the MUHC over the years.
“I’m still here after 35 years because I love my job, and I love the ambiance,” says David Mejia, a spirited PAB. “I work in the OR and we see all kinds of things every day, but I always keep my smile and start my day feeling happy. That’s so important to me. I would encourage any young person or new employee to know that this is one of the best places to work.”
“Working in laboratories has given me the opportunity to see technological changes as well as improved quality care,” shares Minakumari Patel from OPTILAB. “My team and I are servicing the public and we love doing so. I’m thankful for the opportunity to have had 35 years here!”
Martine Alfonso, Associate President and Executive Director of the MUHC, addressed employees with special words: “Since my arrival at the MUHC in 2009, I've admired the number of MUHC team members who've worked here for several decades, which reflects their commitment and dedication to patients and their loved ones,” says Martine.
Patricia Lefebvre, Associate Director General Support, Administration, and Performance, also expressed her gratitude to staff. Managers were proudly in attendance to celebrate their longstanding team members.
Two hundred people are celebrating their 20th MUHC anniversary, and more than a hundred people are celebrating 30 years. Dozens are celebrating 40 years of service. We’re thankful for each one of you, and your tremendous commitment to patients and colleagues!
