The Multi-Organ Transplant Program is a collaboration of most MUHC departments and divisions providing complex surgical services to kidney, pancreas, liver, heart and combined organ transplant patients.
The MUHC is recognized as a national leader in organ transplants since its first kidney transplant in the Commonwealth, performed in 1958. The number of transplants performed and its innovative approaches have made the MUHC a referral centre, improving accessibility and quality of organ transplantation.
