About us

The Human Resources Directorate (HRD) plays a key role in the administration, development, and support of all staff. Working closely with various directorates, HRD is at the heart of the administrative policies and programs that drive the MUHC.

We are here to help you and make sure you have the resources and support you need to thrive professionally at the MUHC.

How we do this

Each day our dedicated team uses its expertise to help our personnel:

  • feel welcomed and appreciated
  • access development plans and enriching training opportunities
  • grow in a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment
  • receive guidance on benefits and compensation
  • benefit from an employee appreciation program
  • experience innovative management practices
  • receive support during personal or professional transitions

Our team

We implement recruitment strategies that help the MUHC attract the best candidates according to the needs of the organization. We also ensure workforce planning while offering expertise on working conditions for managers.

We post jobs available to MUHC employees. These jobs are posted once a month according to the calendar available on our intranet page. Employees can consult job postings and apply through the eEspresso platform using their personal computer, cellphone, or tablet. You can consult our FAQ section for more information.

In addition to posting positions, we support managers in analyzing jobs and writing job descriptions.

Our goal is to provide free and easy access on the Environnement numérique d’apprentissage (ENA) to high-quality training for everyone working in the Quebec health and social services network, whether they are employees, managers, interns, or volunteers. Through ENA, we offer a wide range of courses designed by clinical and administrative experts.

We support employees in maintaining regular work attendance. We get involved during leaves of absences for health reasons, accidents, or other life events. The goal is to make the return to work easier and safer while collaborating with employees, managers and healthcare professionals. We ensure that the appropriate measures are taken, such as workstation accommodations or a schedule that allows for a gradual return to work. By maintaining a balance between the needs of employees and those of the organization, we help create a healthy and inclusive environment while ensuring continuity of services.

Our mission is to promote the physical and psychological health and safety of our employees through prevention, risk reduction, and safe work principles.

We are involved at several points in our employees’ professional lives: pre-employment medical checks, immunization status updates, respiratory protection, reassignment of pregnant employees, outbreak and exposure screening and management, incident investigations, and ergonomic assessments are our bread and butter.

We also provide support with professional or personal issues through the Employee Assistance Program, the Psychosocial Support Team, and the Peer Support Program, and by promoting healthy lifestyle habits.

We help MUHC managers identify HR strategies by offering personalized partnerships in line with organizational needs. We help develop and maintain a healthy, safe, and stimulating work environment. Drawing on the best practices in human resource management, we act as HR program consultants and ambassadors, offering consistent, integrated, and innovative solutions.

We develop, put in place, and assess programs designed to engage staff and achieve the organization’s performance objectives. We focus on several key aspects:

  • Onboarding and orientation: We help integrate new employees and managers into the MUHC culture for a positive employee experience.
  • Skills development and recognition: We support managers in creating human resource development plans and identifying qualified successors. This includes development programs, service recognition awards, and coaching for managers.
  • Specific programs: We offer programs for contribution appreciation (individual and hybrid), manager succesion, and university tuition fee reimbursement for managers.

We also promote events such as Recognition Week, Leadership Day, and initiatives such as the Holiday Celebration, which reinforce employee engagement and the value the MUHC places on its team members.

Through a proactive approach with the entire MUHC community, we are committed to providing timely and useful expertise, by equipping managers and optimizing their autonomy with the goal of building healthy labour relations and promoting a harmonious work environment.

We process requests related to unpaid leaves, parental leaves, insurance, seniority, recognition of studies, salaries, and resignations. Find out more on our intranet page.
