Maghen sheds her locks for love!
When her mother was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, Maghen Racey decided she wanted to help the cause. So this Montreal General Hospital (MGH) nurse registered with the Virgin radio Shave to Save Challenge, an event that involves shaving her hair and raising $ 2,000 to benefit the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
"My mother had to shave her hair because of the treatment she received, so I will support her by shaving my hair too," says Racey.
On October 31, Racey will shave her beautiful copper hair on the MGH 18th floor, where she works. "I'm a little nervous about shaving my head - I absolutely love my hair,” says Racey. "But I don’t want my mother to feel alone in this ordeal."
To make a cash donation with Oliver Cachero go in room E18.102.2 of the MGH, or for other donation types go to Virgin Radio’s website.
