The MUHC is a university health centre with strong academic ties. Our partnership with McGill University’s renowned Faculty of Medicine helps us deliver unsurpassed patient care in some of the most challenging areas of medicine. We are a regional centre for tertiary patient care in cancer, neurology, pediatrics and trauma, to name just a few of our many areas of specialization.

Each year, over 5,500 people are trained at the MUHC, including more than 1,000 medical and surgical residents, 2,400 nurses, 550 medical students, 1,200 researchers, and 400 students in other health-related fields. These students go on to become the next generation of health professionals, serving our community at the MUHC and other Quebec institutions.
