An Evening of Wine, Cheese and Fundraising

The Lachine Hospital Foundation’s 6th annual Wine & Cheese Soiree held on May 11 raised a record $100,000 for the foundation’s $3-million The Best Care for Life Campaign. RBC was the event’s headline sponsor and contributed $25,000. Montreal, May 17, 2012 – The Lachine Hospital Foundation raised a record $100,000 at its 6th annual Wine & Cheese event held on Friday, May 11. The funds are earmarked for the foundation’s $3-million The Best Care for Life Campaign for the renovation and modernization of the Lachine Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre. To date the Foundation has raised a total of $2.6 million.
More than 400 people attended the annual event, which this year paid a special tribute to Noël Spinelli, who served as chairman of the Foundation’s board of directors from 1988 to 1999. Spinelli continues to be involved in many different causes in Lachine and the Greater Montreal Area.
“This year’s event was once again a resounding success,” declared Jacques Filion, chairman of the Lachine Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We can’t thank our community partners enough for the continued support they have shown throughout the Foundation’s fundraising campaign as we work hard to improve the Lachine Hospital.”
The evening was sponsored by RBC and featured the distinctive wines of Italy paired with local Quebec cheeses, along with a silent auction and raffle that contributed to the fundraising total. Notable attendees this year included:

About the Lachine Hospital Foundation The Lachine Hospital Foundation raises funds to support the redevelopment of the Lachine Campus, including both the hospital and the Camille-Lefebvre Pavilion, a long-term care facility. Once renovated, these facilities will better serve the community through single patient rooms, specialized equipment and other improvements.
