Montreal, May 17, 2012 – The Lachine Hospital Foundation raised a record $100,000 at its 6th annual Wine & Cheese event held on Friday, May 11. The funds are earmarked for the foundation’s $3-million The Best Care for Life Campaign for the renovation and modernization of the Lachine Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre. To date the Foundation has raised a total of $2.6 million.
More than 400 people attended the annual event, which this year paid a special tribute to Noël Spinelli, who served as chairman of the Foundation’s board of directors from 1988 to 1999. Spinelli continues to be involved in many different causes in Lachine and the Greater Montreal Area.
