The Glen Campus: a hub for world-class academic medicine
The Glen Campus will be the new home of the Royal Victoria and The Montreal Children’s hospitals, the Montreal Chest Institute, a Cancer Centre and the Research Institute of the MUHC. Within these walls, our talented professionals will ensure patients across the lifespan benefit from the most efficient, effective a nd proven healthcare practices.

An economic engine for Montreal, Quebec and Canada
With an investment of $1.343 billion, the New MUHC at the Glen Campus the New MUHC will be an economic engine, stimulating growth and improving quality of life for the city, the province and the country.
- Around the Glen Campus, $90 million is being invested in roadwork, sewage and aqueduct enhancements and other infrastructure, in partnership with Transport Quebec and the City of Montreal.
- Roughly 2,500 construction workers will be on-site at the Glen Campus every day for the duration of construction (about four years).
- To help train and employ local workers, the MUHC has formed a partnership with the Inter-Neighbourhood Coalition: a group of community organizations representing the neighbourhoods around the Glen Campus (NDG, the Southwest and Westmount).
Already a leader in environmental building management and holder of a number of environmental certifications, the MUHC has committed to building and operating its new facilities to LEED® Silver standards: an international reference for sustainable development.
- In addition to reducing its consumption of water, the MUHC will pay particular attention to energy efficiency and to improving ambient air quality, ensuring the ecological development of the site, efficient use of materials and resources, and the protection of the environment.
- A focus on public and active transport, with pedestrian pathways and a bike path on and near the site, ample bike racks and carpooling programmes. The Glen is immediately adjacent to the Vendôme intermodal station, where the metro’s orange line, 11 bus routes and 3 commuter rail lines meet.
