A future rich in innovations for the obstetrics team at the RVH Birthing Centre.
Last February 16th, the Department of Obstetrics Birthing Centre at the Royal Victoria Hospital enthusiastically celebrated the launch of the MOREOB program; an initiative that commits all departmental personnel to common training for "the best care for life" in obstetrics.
“The primary goal of this program is to train all the members of our obstetrics team and bring them to a common level of knowledge in order to facilitate discussion, form an effective, equal team, and listen to patients” says Dr. Alon Shrim, Obstetrician, Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Department of Obstetrics.
Diverse work groups (obstetricians, nurses, physicians, and residents) were created and will soon begin the first phase of theoretical training, followed by a practical phase, then discussions “Everyone is involved with this project, it is a mission!” states Dr. Shrim. The ultimate goal is to minimize obstetric risk thanks to a team that works together to quickly and effectively meet the needs of patients.
This program, the first within the MUHC, will take place at the Royal Hospital Victoria for the next three years.
The future is rich with innovation for everyone - patients and practitioners!
