One research focus has been on cancer, mortality, and other outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Additional projects include using administrative database sources to determine outcomes in rheumatic disease. These endeavors focus on health-related outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and SLE, and the economic impact of rheumatic diseases. Another focus is the study of rheumatic disease prevalence (determinations of how common different diseases are) across Canada, using administrative data. Also involvement in access-to-care research, particularly for patients with RA, and in other forms of patient-centred research.
