Salman Qureshi, MD

Research Focus:

Research focuses on identifying and characterizing the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammation and innate immunity that are relevant to human critical illness. Active research programs on host resistance against Cryptococcus neoformans, an opportunistic fungal pathogen that causes pneumonia and meningitis, Streptococcus pneumoniae/Klebsiella pneumoniae, two common bacterial pathogens that cause pneumonia and sepsis, and H1N1 influenza virus are ongoing.
