Paul Goodyer, MD

Secondary Axis:
Medical Genetics and Genomics
Research Focus:

Research interests are in the molecular control of renal development as it pertains to hereditary renal disease. Lab themes include: a) common variants of genes that set nephron number during embryogenesis; b) the pathogenesis of Wilms tumor; c) the developmental aspects of polycystic kidney disease; d) paracrine mechanism in stem cell therapy of cystinosis; e) biology of renal progenitor cells. Clinical research focuses on renal hypoplasia due to maternal Vitamin A deficiency in India and the pathogenesis of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
