Cynthia Gates Goodyer, PhD

Research Focus:

Research objectives include: To determine the factors regulating expression of the human growth hormone receptor (hGHR) gene during pre- and post-natal development. To investigate changes in the hGHR intracellular signalling pathways during development. To characterize the role of mutations or polymorphisms in the hGHR gene or changes in the hGHR signalling pathways that can explain disorders of growth in fetal and postnatal individuals, including short stature and obesity. To determine the extent and effect of prenatal exposure to persistent organic pollutant (POP) environmental contaminants (e.g. flame retardants) on fetal development and reproductive health.
