Research Review
All health care research conducted at the MUHC is evaluated for scientific merit, ethical acceptability and for appropriate use of MUHC resources for research purposes. The process known as “triple review” is required by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux. To learn about each review, please consult Research Review Information.
A request to conduct health research at the MUHC begins with an electronic submission to newstudy [at] muhc [dot] mcgill [dot] ca where the central intake service launches all reviews required for Science, Ethics and Site Specific Assessment.
Step-by-step instructions to make a complete submission for review of new research are found at Research Review Submission.
The Investigator receives written confirmation as each review is completed. Once all reviews are favorable, the Investigator receives correspondence providing MUHC Authorization to conduct the study.
A study cannot be conducted at the MUHC until the Investigator receives written MUHC Authorization.
Once MUHC Authorization is received and the study is ready to begin, the Investigator submits a Study Status Report indicating the date of study initiation to newstudy [at] muhc [dot] mcgill [dot] ca, and thereby confirms for the institution the research will be conducted.
