Research Review
All research proposals involving human subjects at the MUHC are evaluated for scientific merit, ethical acceptability and appropriate resource management (Site-Specific Assessment), defined as “triple review” by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux.
To simplify the review process, all applications requesting review are submitted to a central intake service. Your initial submission will launch all necessary reviews. You will receive written confirmation of the individual reviews and, once all approvals have been issued, the Principal Investigator will receive MUHC Authorization to initiate the study.
At the MUHC, a study cannot begin without the Investigator receiving written “MUHC Authorization” to conduct the study. When ready to begin the study, submit a Study Status Report to indicate the date of study initiation, as specified in the MUHC Authorization letter.
You are invited to consult Research Review Information to learn about the requirements for each individual review and Research Review Submission for step-by-step instruction to submit for research review.
