Technical Coordinator-Montreal Chest Institute (MCI)
Under the general supervision of the Animal resource Division (ARD) Manager and
The ARD Director, the candidate performs animal care-related duties, technical procedures on animals and administrative duties related to the care and use of laboratory animals and the good management of the operation at the MCI animal facility.
GENERAL DUTIES
• Coordinate the work and schedule of the ARD employees assigned to work at the MCI;
• Performs husbandry and technical duties related to the care and maintenance of animals;
• Records and reports various data related to animal care or animal use;
• Operate and masters the functionalities of the animal care and use software Darwin;
• Helps maintain inventory of materials and equipment, proceed to animals and materials orders;
• Operates and monitors appropriate equipment, tools, materials and instruments;
• Administrative duties (data entry, coordinate meetings, reception, training session);
• Workshop trainings;
• Create and put in place SOPs;
• Member of the FACC;
• Interacts with researchers and act as a resource person on the site.
• Performs any related or inferiors duties.
• D.E.C. in Animal Health Technology, CALAS registered preferred;
• CALAS-ALAT Certification or equivalent;
• Five(5) years of related experience in research;
• Capacity of adaptation;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent organizational skills in managing priorities, multi-tasking and prioritizing for time-sensitive issues and working under minimal supervision;
• Demonstrated versatility with computer applications, namely Windows, MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Internet;
• Proficient French and English spoken and written.
Status: Full-time
Work Shift: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
