Job Summary: 

Under the general direction of the IT and Telecommunications Division Director, the Systems and Network Administrator’s responsibility includes to manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications; plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets; plan, execute, and finalize system and network projects according to strict deadlines and within budget

GENERAL DUTIES:
• Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
• Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices including virtual environment to meet corporate objectives.
• Oversee deployment of workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems.
• Manage all operating systems and end-user software.
• Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
• Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
• Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
• Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network.
• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent network activities.
• Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software and network products and services.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.
• Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

Requirements: 

• Bachelors Degree in in the field of computer science
• 5 years’ experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
• Exceptional technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows, Unix, Lunix , VMWare;
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on.
• Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including OSI network standards, ANSI/TIA/EIS data center standards, security and WiFi protocols;
• Good application support experience preferably in an Oracle DBMS and WebCenter environment.
• Experience with data and data center management.
• Comfortable working under pressure.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be bilingual (French and English), written and spoken

Salary: 
Pay Scale: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Schedule: 

Status: Full-time
Work shift: 35-hour workweek, overtime will be required during peak periods
