Access to surgery
The following section shows the situation of the MUHC regarding its access to planned surgery also referred to by the Ministry as elective surgery. An elective surgery is defined as a non-urgent surgery that is planned in advance.
The indicator shown represents the percentage of patients that were operated on less than 6 months after being put on the waiting list.
The provincial target is 90%, meaning that 90% of the patients that were operated on did not wait for more than 6 months.
Note: Hospitals function according to an annual calendar composed of 13 periods ("P" in graphs) starting April 1st of each year.
Adult Sites
The following graph shows the performance of the adult hospital sites.

Analysis: Adult hospitals of the MUHC perform above the provincial target (90%). Lachine Campus shows an excellent record with close to 100% of the patients operated on within 6 months.
Pediatric Site
The following graph shows the performance of the Montreal Children's Hospital.

Analysis: The MCH performance is very similar to the other pediatric hospitals in the Montreal region (85%).
