At the MUHC nurses are supported and encouraged to build their careers by gaining experience in different specialties, exploring different roles and responsibilities and pursuing education at any level. Nursing Career planning service

Our personalized Nursing Career Planning Service supports your career track, providing you with tools to improve your skills, promote your assets, and achieve your goals. We can help you prepare for a job interview, update your resume, write letters of intent, and further your studies.

Preceptorship programs All nurses are invited to take advantage of our preceptorship programs, which are full-time personalized orientations, designed to help new staff members integrate into their department. Each nurse works closely with an experienced preceptor, to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to care for the patient population of that clinical specialty.

French classes We offer free courses to help you learn, improve and become fluent in the French language.

Critical Care training Tremendous potential for career growth exists within our hospital network. Nurses may choose their track from a unique blend of specialties and ultra-specialties. With specialized training, candidates to the nursing practice (CPN) may begin their career in the operating room, critical care, emergency and dialysis.

Advanced studies in nursing Funding support is available for nurses interested in continuing their education towards obtaining Bachelors and Masters degrees. Certain bursaries also exist for the CNA (Canadian Nurses Association) Certification and Re-certification exams (19 different specialties). Workshops and conferences
