Inauguration of the Giuseppe Bruno Urologic Oncology Centre

More than a hundred guests came together with our clinical leaders and the Montreal General Hospital Foundation to celebrate the opening of the new Giuseppe Bruno Urologic Oncology Centre, located on L8 at the MGH. Major renovations to the site resulted in the creation of a state-of-the-art environment that will serve as model for the Glen Campus Cancer Centre.

In line with the mandate adopted by the Direction de la lutte contre le cancer, this new Centre displays a truly interdisciplinary character, thanks to the on-site collaboration of urologists, medical and radiation oncologists, a pivot nurse, social workers, psychologists, sexologists, statisticians, residents and clinical researchers, all working together for the greater benefit of our patients and their families. Bringing all these professionals together will improve access to health care, while streamlining patient follow-up. 

It goes without saying that a health care approach focussed on the patient and family, combined with the commitment of our staff are the primary strengths of cancer treatment at the MUHC. To help continue this tradition, a budget of $155M has been allocated from the $2.2B allocated for the MUHC Redevelopment Project to build the Glen Campus Cancer Centre.

Now our patients will be able to benefit from the exceptional L8 facilities thanks to the vision and determination of our teams; a special thanks to the remarkable contribution of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation and Frank Bruno, his family and friends.
