Expanded data added to MUHC Patient Safety and Quality microsite

A continuing effort to promote a culture of accountability and transparency

MONTREAL – In a continuing effort to promote a culture of accountability and transparency, the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) today released additional data about the type and severity of incidents and accidents reported at its hospitals.

The new data compare the past two complete years 2008/2009 and 2009/2010. The information can be found on the MUHC’s user-friendly Web microsite, launched in November 2011:

www.muhc.ca/patient-safety

The MUHC microsite is designed to inform patients about safety processes and initiatives at the MUHC, and includes key quality indicators that track the number, type and severity of reported incidents and accidents, as well as access indicators for emergency departments and planned surgery.
