A thorough plan
The MUHC has been working since 2003 to develop a project that meets its goals, that falls within the allocated budget, and that fits with the care model established by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux. This exercise resulted in two important documents: the Clinical Plan and the Functional and Technical Program.
The Clinical Plan details the services (clinical care, research and teaching) that the MUHC hopes to offer once the Redevelopment Project is complete. This document was approved by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux as well as the Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de Montréal.
The Functional and Technical Program (FTP) is a large document that defines all of the functional, operational and technical needs of the Redevelopment Project. Based on the Clinical Plan, the FTP outlines the space required for clinical, research and educational activities, such as examination rooms, treatment spaces, offices, operating rooms, patient rooms, and more.
A very special thank you to all clinical and administrative staff as well as to all professionals who participated in this long-term planning process. Because of your vision and hard work, our patients, our employees and our community will benefit from hospital campuses of exceptional quality.
