Functions
The five (5) functions of the Users’ committee are:
- To inform patients of their rights and obligations;
- To foster the improvement of the quality of the living conditions of patients and assess the degree of satisfaction of patients with regard to the services obtained from the MUHC;
- To defend the common rights and interest of patients or, at the request of a user, his right and interests as a user before the MUHC or any competent authority;
- To accompany and assist a patient, on request, in any action he undertakes, including the filing of a complaint. In addition, the Users’ Committee must adopt operating rules, submit an annual report of its activities to the MUHC Board of Directors and transmit a copy of the report to the Regional Board.
The three (3) functions of the In-Patients' Committees are:
- To inform In-Patients of their rights and obligations;
- To foster the improvement of the quality of the living conditions of In-Patients and assess the degree of satisfaction of In-Pa¬tients with regard to the services obtained from the MUHC;
- To defend the common rights and interests of In-Patients or, at the request of a user, his rights and interests as a user before the MUHC or any competent authority.
