Guests: Andrea Laizner (nursing research) and Lincoln D’Souza (wound care specialist)

With tomorrow being International Nurses Day, we figured it would be a good time to celebrate the wonderful, and perhaps underappreciated, job that nurses do around the world. We speak to Andrea Laizner, one of two nurses at the MUHC to win the coveted Prix Florence award for nursing this year.
We also speak to Lincoln D’Souza – a nurse manager in the wound care program at the MUHC. Over the years he’s used some pretty innovative techniques to treat wounds, including silver bandages, maggots and electrical stimulation. He tells us about his new wound healing treatment – honey.
Our guest interviews follow the World News In Three Medical Minutes – a regular feature on Health Matters where we summarize the cutting edge medical stories making headlines around the world.
