On Saturday, October 17, the Valdez family held a special fundraising concert in honour of Magdalena Fernandez Valdez, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1997.
Magdalena's five children, Mark Anthony, Marcel Francis, Sheena Lynn, Dela Marie & Joy Anne delighted the audience with a wide variety of artistic talents ranging from drum, piano and guitar playing, to interpretive dance and accordion music. Joining them were Filipine dancers who performed traditional and hip hop dance numbers, and the Dance 501 Troupe who presented routines by dancers of all ages.
Congratulations and sincere thanks go out to Connie Fernandez, Magdalena’s sister, who organized the concert and spearheaded the fundraising. Connie has been a nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital for more than 25 years. Bravo Connie!
