Lachine Hospital

The MUHC holds a press conference at the Lachine Hospital announcing the approval of government funds for a new minimally invasive surgery operating room, to be designed to accommodate bariatric patients.

The MUHC, in conjunction with its partners, the City of Montreal, CDN-NDG borough, and Groupe immobilier santé McGill forms a Good Neighbourly Relations Committee with local residents and merchants. The committee holds monthly working sessions, open to the public, to inform them of construction work at and around the Glen and address their questions and concerns.

Montreal General Hospital

Work on the new electrical sub-station at the Montreal General Hospital is completed and employees celebrate with cupcakes and smoothies! The new sub-station will allow the MGH to operate an increasing amount of modern equipment, permit the MGH to be air-conditioned in the future and improve accessibility to the Cedar Entrance.

Phase I of Detailed Design is completed and plans for levels S2 to 2 are final; this includes all logistical areas and the two Emergency Departments.
Lachine Hospital

Construction of the new minimally-invasive operating room begins. The new OR, designed to accommodate bariatric patients, is the first step in making Lachine one of two bariatric centres of excellence in Quebec.

The Comité consultatif d’urbanisme (CCU), Comité ad hoc d’architecture et d’urbanisme (CAU), Conseil du patrimoine de Montréal (CPM) and Commission des Biens Culturels du Québec (CBCQ) look favourably on the revised project, while the Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Culture féminine gives a favourable preliminary opinion concerning the Montreal General Hospital's redevelopment.
